The BeeSmart Education program brings immersive educational opportunities into the classroom and community by tailoring each presentation to be an interactive discussion about the health, environment, and future of our pollinators in the Pacific Northwest and across the globe. ​

COVID and Teachers

COVID has thrown a lot into turmoil, but we firmly believe that education is a lifelong pursuit, not defined by four walls and a chalkboard. Therefore we are committed to continuing our education efforts by bringing our educational talks online. The silver lining to this beautiful cloud is that we are now able to reach a global audience with our materials and passion!

Schools

We love to do presentations at all types of education centers and are always on the look out for for those who are seeking to expose their students to the fascinating world of bees and insects! Currently we are based in the Greater Portland Area and focus on bringing the hive into the classroom (quite literally in some cases!) to keep students engaged and curious about their outside world.

Our topics cover everything from the life cycle of a bee and other pollinators to backyard beekeeping for more advanced audiences. In addition to our educational presentations, we partner with students to empower and support them in starting school beekeeping clubs, helping to supply materials and lessons. Furthermore, we supply BeeTop Gardens and PNW native plant seeds, enabling students to make the connection between pollinators and food. ​

Community

Our love for spreading information does not stop in the classroom; we are continually bringing the good word out into the community! Our interactions manifest in different forms from presentations to hive maintenance and include all audiences:
